Canal Road in Westport’s Saugatuck Shores area was flooded early today at high tide, Westport police said.
Water was over the roadway, making passage impossible. High tide in the area was 12:21 a.m.
A newly installed water gauge on the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge over the Saugatuck River in Westport’s center reported a reading of 6.06 feet at 11:45 p.m.
The National Weather Service had issued a Coastal Flood Advisory until 2 a.m. today and issued a similar one from 8 p.m. today until 2 a.m. Thursday.
