UPDATE The National Weather Service has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Westport and area until 3 a.m. Thursday.
It said at 11:54 p.m., 1 to 3 inches of rain had fallen across the area with moderate to periods of heavy rain expected through the overnight hours. Rainfall rates up to an inch an hour will be possible during this time.
Minor nuisance flooding is already occurring in flood-prone areas with the potential for further minor flooding to occur, the Weather Service said.
A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 a.m. Thursday.
