The Westport-based Al’s Angels charity is holding a “Cones for Kids” fundraiser today and Sunday at Saugatuck Sweets, 575 Saugatuck Ave., from noon to 10 p.m.
The goal is to raise $100,000 for children and families battling cancer, rare blood diseases, and financial hardship, according to Westporter Al DiGuido, head of Al’s Angels and co-owner with Pete Romano of Saugatuck Sweets.
The event will feature live music, games, crafts, food and treats, and glitter tattoos. Guests are asked to purchase a cone, shake, or sundae and donate the value of a cone to Al’s Angels.
The charity said it hopes to provide 3,200 families and almost 6,000 children with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hanukkah meals.
