High Wind Warning Issued
UPDATE The National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. tonight issued a High Wind Warning for Westport and area which is in effect from 4 a.m. to noon Friday.
The warning, which replaced a wind advisory issued in late afternoon, said winds southeast 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph could bring down trees and power lines.
“Winds of this magnitude could down trees and tree limbs, power lines and holiday decorations, and cause minor property damage,” the Weather Service said.
“Numerous power outages will be possible.”
