UPDATE Westport firefighters roll up their hoses today on Cartamount Road where a fire damaged a basement utility room and caused smoke damage throughout the house. There were no injuries. The Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating the cause, but initial indication was that it was accidental, said Assistant Chief Michael Kronick. Twenty-six firefighters responded to the scene, the number of available firefighters bolstered by the fact the call came just as shifts were changing.
