Registration Starts for Earthplace-Mahackeno Camp

Registration is beginning for Earthplace-Mahackeno Summer Camp 2013 – the joint day camp being offered by the Westport Weston Family Y and Earthplace, The Nature Discovery Center.

The camp is now accepting registrations from past participants of either program, an announcement said today. Registration for new campers will open on Monday, March 4.

This summer’s Earthplace-Mahackeno program is for campers who are entering first grade through tenth grade.

Together, the Earthplace-Mahackeno team has created fun weekly themes featuring traditional camp activities, nature programs and special field trips.

Camp will be offered as nine one-week sessions, starting June 24, and will include daily pre- and post-care programs. Registration forms are available at http://www.westporty.org and http://www.earthplace.org.

The special one-year collaboration between these two popular local day camps was spurred by the closure of the Mahackeno campus while the Family Y’s new facility is being constructed.
