The effort, which provides toys for underprivileged children throughout Fairfield County and beyond, this year for the second year will partner with “Newtown Kindness,” an organization whose mission is “to promote kindness as a guiding principle of humanity,” an announcement said.

New, unopened, and unwrapped toys, as well as cash donations, will be accepted by Westport Police officers in the parking lot of The Athletic Shoe Factory, 1560 Post Road East, on Saturdays and Sundays Dec. 6, 7, 13, and 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In case of bad weather, or if more convenient, toys can be dropped off at collection boxes at the Westport Police Department, 50 Jesup Road, and Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave., beginning Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec.14.

The deadline for all donations is Dec.14 at 5 p.m. Any questions can be directed to Sgt. Jill Ruggiero at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or (203)341-6000.
