Police, Fire Scramble After Person in Water Report
Westport police and fire units late today responded to a waterfront home off Saugatuck Avenue on a report of a person in the water who fell off a dock.
However, on arrival at a home on Burritt’s Landing South, first responders found the person was a dog sitter who had gone into the water to retrieve a dog, according to reports from the scene.
The dog sitter was reported to be in good condition and inside the home when units arrived, the reports said.
There was no word on condition of the dog.
