Police Arrest NY Man on Illegal Credit Card Use

Westport police today arrested a 23-year-old New York man after they said he attempted to purchase merchandise with a fraudulent credit card.
Akeem Williams of Brooklyn, N.Y. was arrested after he tried make the purchase at Dan’s Liquors, 607 Post Road East at 12:20 p.m., police said. After being turned away, a 911 call alerted other officers who spotted his vehicle at the nearby CVS parking lot.
He was found to be in possession of 25 fraudulent credit cards, recently purchased liquor bottles and cigarettes, police said.
Police charged him with illegal use of a credit card, larceny, and unlawful reproduction of a credit card. He was held on $50,000 bond for a court appearance on Dec. 21, police said.

When will the word ever get out to these crooks that you don’t try this kind of stuff in Westport. Our cops are just too darn good….
Kudos to Dan’s employees. It seems, it was the staff that was suspicious of him first. But yes, Westport’s police officers are top notch.
