She was surrounded by her husband, their children, Greg and Keira; and her three siblings, Patricia Parsons Poe, Deborah Parsons Slocum and David Parsons.

Daughter of the late John and Jean Parsons of West Hartford, she graduated from Hall High in 1964 before studying literature at Middlebury College, Vermont. She married James in 1967, and their two children, Greg and Keira, were born in New Haven, while Jim was studying at Yale Drama School.

After several years in California they settled down for good in Weston in 1977. She received a Master’s of Social Work from Fordham University and worked at Hall-Brooke Hospital in Westport and in the special ed department at Weston Middle School.

In 1995, she put her people talents to work as director of development for her son’s Blue Light Theater Company in New York City. Her passions included the family “farm” where she spent many weekends and summers throughout her life.

She was the undisputed hub of a large and tight-knit extended family. Her greatest pride of recent years, were her grandchildren: Owen (3) and Charlie (10 mos).

The family will be holding a private memorial in Westport.

Memorial donations may be made to: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network; Wildlife in Crisis (Weston); or Hole in the Wall Gang Camp (Ashford, Conn).
