Now He’s a Novelist
![]()
Westport illustrator and author Tracy Sugarman, an intimate participant in the turbulent civil rights movement in Mississippi, was guest at the Westport Public Library today to talk about his first novel, “Nobody Said, “Amen.” Published as a Morris Jesup Book in association with the Westport Public Library, it tells the stories of two families’ lives, one white, one black, as they navigate the challenging, shifting landscape of social change in Mississippi in the 1960s.
