Margolis BB Gun Case Continued Again
It’s back to court on March 27 for Estelle Margolis of Westport who faces a misdemeanor breach of peace charge stemming from her bringing a BB gun rifle and ammunition to the Jan. 8 Westport Representative Town Meeting (RTM) session discussing gun control.
She appeared in Norwalk Superior Court court today where a judge continued the case. On Jan. 18 she entered a plea of not guilty (photo).
Margolis has apologized for her actions in letters to the editor and told WestportNow: “I’m sorry I was so stupid.” (See WestportNow Jan. 9, 2013) She said she was merely trying to highlight how easy it is to buy guns.
On Monday, Margolis was among dozens of Westporters who traveled to Hartford where Capitol police estimated more than 5,000 attended a rally demanding stricter gun controls.

Free Estelle! Being “stupid” as she describes herself, should not be a crime.
Do you know Estelle?
She was trying to demonstrate how easy it is to buy guns by showing up with a BB gun. Sorry but that’s not a firearm.
