Kathryn J. Card, 89
Kathryn June Card of Stratford, a former Westport resident, died Jan. 24 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was 89.
The wife of the late Raymond E. Card was born July 5, 1923 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late John and Katherine Hanna. She was a resident of Westport for 35 years before moving to Stratford in 1995.
After raising her children, she held part time jobs at Country Gal and Westport Bank and Trust. She was a woman of deep Catholic faith. She loved gardening, playing cards and music, particularly classical, musicals and the Boston Pops, her family sad.
Her greatest joy was her family. She was a gentle, caring person and a wonderful listener. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children; Kathy Williamson and her husband Perry, of Chesapeake, Va.,, Ray Card and his wife June, of Barkhamsted, Marianne Card and her husband Tom Kowalsky, of Stratford, and Jane Horton and her husband Greg, of Monroe.
Also her grandchildren; Kelly (Alex) Kirk, Mark (Keeley) Goldsmith, Nathan (Andrea) Card, Grace Card, Brian Kowalsky, Michael Kowalsky, Megan Horton, Ryan Horton, Kyle Horton and her great grandchildren, Davis Kirk, Zoe Kirk, Emma Kate Kirk, and Evelyn Card. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave, Westport on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 10 am. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road.
