Iris Mary Mordaunt of Trumbull, a former state employee at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, died Feb. 16. She was 77.
Born in the United Kingdom in November 1934, she relocated with her family in 1966 to Trumbull.
Following her career in the banking industry with Citi Trust and Chase banks, she was the office manager for the state’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Boating Office at Westport’s Sherwood Island State Park.
She was an active and highly decorated officer of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary with 25 years of service, and received the Coast Guard’s Presidential Unit Citation for her dedicated service during the 9/11 incident.
Survivors include her partner of 18 years, Kenneth Bradley; daughter, Shirley Legen and son-in-law Martin of Naugatuck; son, Dr. Chistopher Mordaunt and wife Diane Wilson of Mifflinburg, Pa.; son, Alan Trevethan of the United Kingdom; daughter Patricia Farr of Sturbridge, Mass.; four grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Friends are invited to attend services on Friday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull with the Rev. Elsa Worth officiating. Interment to follow in Long Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 4-8 p.m.
