Woman Unhurt in Hillspoint Road Rescue

WestportNow.com Image
An 81-year-old Westport woman escaped serious injury late Saturday night when she lost control of her car and it rolled over in her driveway at 105 Hillspoint Road and became wedged between a detached garage and a trailered power boat in the yard. Waltraud Albrecht was trapped in the vehicle for 20 minutes before firefighters got her out. She appeared shaken but was able to walk into her residence. Her son, Patrick, who lives with her and provided her identification, said his mother—who had been involved in another accident in March on Roseville Road (see WestportNow March 9, 2011)—told him once out of the vehicle that she will never drive again. “I’m taking the keys away,” he said.
