High Wind Watch Issued
The National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. has issued a High Wind Watch for Westport and area from Wednesday evening through Wednesday night.
It said winds are anticipated to be east 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
An advisory said the highest threat potential is from late Wednesday into Wednesday night.
A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or stronger may occur.
