Gingerbread Decorating Winner

Staples High School sophomore Amelia Tavarnesi, 15, poses today at the Westport Public Library with her first place winner in the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce Gingerbread Decorating Contest – a lighthouse. Tavarnesi, who wants to become an architect, said, “I’ve built other models for my biology class and I like doing it.” Chamber Executive Director Lisa Parrelli Gray. who announced the winners, said second place went to Madeline Gray. 14. of Westport, and third place to Weston High senior Jennifer Gruen. The gingerbread entries were on display at 27 stores and businesses in Westport and Weston from Nov. 26 to Monday with the public invited to vote for the best decoration, mainly with pennies.
