Elizabeth Herold Graham of Westport died Dec. 24 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. She was 82.

Born in Boston, she lived most of her formative life in Fairfield where she graduated from Roger Ludlow High School. Upon graduation from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., she lived and worked in New York City and was the first female senior financial analyst for Value Line.

After marriage to William J. Graham in 1968, she joined the Will Graham Advertising Company becoming president upon her husband’s death in 1975.

She was a member of The Junior League of New York City and of Eastern Fairfield County and an active member of the Greens Farms Garden Club serving on the board and becoming president.

She received the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut Lifetime Award for her outstanding contributions.

She was particularly proud of the work she did through the garden club at The Bridgeport Hospital, establishing a green house for garden therapy and creating and running the weekly programs.

She also was a devoted member off Saint Paul’s Church in Fairfield where her greatest joy was active participation in the prayer group.

She is survived by her sisters: Estelle H. Flack of Southport, Melora H. North of East Orleans, Mass., and Deborah H. Swigart of Washington, Conn.; her nieces and nephews: Lisa Flack of Bridgeport, Pamela Flack of Norwalk, Ambassador Walter North and his wife, Judy Ryon, M.D. of Papua, New Guinea, Melora B. North of Orleans, Mass., Lucie St. George and her husband, Lawrence, of Sudbury, Mass., Edmund Swigart of Washington, Conn., and Paul Swigart and his wife, Paty, of Greenwich, seven great grand nieces and nephews and her devoted caregiver of three and a half years, Dorota Dec of Bridgeport.

She is remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her beautiful smile and her love and devotion to all she knew. She was a true humanitarian, her family said.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 661 Old Post Road, Fairfield.  Interment will be private.
