Didn’t Quite Make It
UPDATE A tractor-trailer trying to turn from Westport’s Main Street on to Elm Street at about noon today did not quite make it. It knocked down a street sign and became stuck on a stone wall. In the process of trying to back out, the brake air line was compromised and the truck could not be moved, the driver told police. To complicate the situation, street work was under way on Main Street that shut down traffic to one lane. A heavy duty wrecker managed to clear the situation just before 1 p.m. and Main Street was reopened to traffic. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
