Christmas Tree Lighting at Town Farm Saturday
Trees, wreaths and greens to deck the halls, doors and window trim will be on sale at Westport’s Wakeman Town Farm (WTF) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday followed by the farm’s first annual Christmas tree lighting.
Farm personnel say the tree lighting is a revival of a longtime Wakeman family tradition replete with a bonfire, mugs of hot chocolate and cookies.
Sal Gilbertie, owner of Gilbertie’s Herb Garden in Westport and Gilbertie’s Wholesale Farm in Easton, will be on hand throughout the day, farm officials say, to help customers choose from assorted Fraser Firs, the type of tree picked by the White House, and an array of wreaths from undecorated ones to those trimmed with pine, cedar and herbs.
For further information, contact the farm at (203)557-9195.
