Chowing Down at Chowdafest
![]()
UPDATE Chowdafest, which has outgrown its Westport roots, moved to Bridgeport’s Webster Bank Area at Harbor Yard today. Thousands attended the Connecticut chowder and soup competition which began in 2008 at Westport’s Unitarian Church. They sampled 30 different chowders and soups and voted on their favorites. Winners at the end of the day: Best New England Clam Chowder: Donovan’s of South Norwalk; Best Creative Chowder: The Ginger Man of Greenwich, Best Soup or Bisque: Crab Shell of Stamford. Created and organized by members of The Unitarian Church in Westport and presented by Stop & Shop, the annual fundraiser benefits Connecticut Food Bank. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
