Kristen Becker: released on $2,500 bond. Westport Police photo
Westport police arrested a 34-year-old Fairfield woman on risk of injury to child charges after she allegedly left a young boy alone in a car while she was in a tanning salon.
Kristen Becker of Fairfield’s Southport section was arrested Saturday after she left her child unattended while she went into Palm Beach Tan, 1854 Post Road East, to tan, police said.
After Becker was already in a tanning room, a young boy, 3 or 4 years old, went into the store alone, about five minutes later, police said.
The boy was not wearing a jacket and the temperatures were in the high 20s, police said.
When Becker was told by the employees that the child was in the salon, Becker told the child he was supposed to stay in the car, police said.
She was taken into custody at her home and later released after posting $2,500 bond, police said. She is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Feb. 11.
