‘Building What Matters’
Scenes from today’s groundbreaking ceremony for the new Westport Weston Family Y at Camp Mahackeno. The ceremony concluded an effort going back to at least 2002 to find a new home for the Y. The new facility, which is scheduled to open in November 2014, will include a 10-lane, 25-yard lap pool and adjacent warm-water family/teaching/therapeutic pool; expansive health and wellness center; multipurpose gymnasium; three group-fitness studios; a child watch/kids’ adventure gym area; five locker rooms, including one for those with dependent care, as well as other amenities.
