Members of Long Lots Elementary School Brownie Troop 50369 stopped by Westport Animal Control today to bring some holiday cheer to the residents. They came bearing toys, treats, beds and supplies which will be used for the current homeless dogs housed at the shelter and future arrivals. Westport animal Control Officer Joe Saponare and Westport Animal Shelter Advocates President Julie Loparo were on hand to answer their questions about the dogs and the important role Westport Animal Control plays in the community. Westport Animal Control is a no-kill shelter located on Elaine Road which is dedicated to the care of lost and stray dogs in Westport.  WASA (Westport Animal Shelter Advocates) is a 501c3 organization formed to foster and assist homeless dogs in Fairfield County with an emphasis on funding vet care for the dogs impounded at Westport Animal Control.  (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
