Arts Center’s ‘Muse’ Exhibit Opens Friday
![]()
The Westport Arts Center opens its latest exhibit “Muse” on Friday with a 6 p.m. reception. Curator Helen Klisser During, director of visual arts, stands in front of a work by Chuck Close, one of the featured muse-inspired paintings, drawings, and sculpture. Other artists represented include Paul Cadmus, Jane Sutherland, Pablo Picasso, and Philis Raskind-Anderson. “I’m interested in what inspires and drives artists to obsessively render someone or something over and over again,” says Klisser During. “‘Muse’ explores the pure, raw, honesty between muse and artist. As inspiration feeds the soul, so the muse fuels the artist with a compulsive need to lovingly create.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Jill Sarver for WestportNow.com
