An Artist’s Muse
![]()
Jon Anderson poses in front of portraits of himself by the late artist Paul Cadmus at tonight’s Westport Arts Center opening reception for its new “Muse” exhibit. Anderson was 27 when he first met Cadmus, then 59, and became Cadmus’s muse. Up until his death in 1999 at age 94, Cadmus, a Weston resident, created dozens of drawings and paintings of Anderson, many of them sensuous and erotic. Anderson, now 75, and his wife, Philis Raskind-Anderson, will answer questions at the Center on Saturday at 1 p.m. about what it is like to be a muse and to be inspired by one, while creating a sculpture in the main gallery.
