![]()
According to a Westport Public Library official, 111 persons registered for today’s14th annual crossword competition. David Rubenstein, a competition organizer, awarded certificates to 44 individuals who achieved perfect scores in each of the three preliminary rounds. He told the attendees, “That’s a record.” According to Westporter Michael Goodman, who said he has participated in this event in 12 of its 14 years, “I recall only about 15-20 each year who achieved perfect scores for all preliminary rounds. The large number this year is unusual.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
