A wild turkey with an attitude held up traffic on Westport’s Kings Highway North near Birchwood Country Club today as it pecked away at a tire of a Land Rover. By the time an animal control officer was on the scene, the turkey attack was over and traffic was flowing smoothly—but not before a passing motorist recorded it all and it appeared on YouTube (caution audio contains profanities). This is not unusual.  Most likely a male who
sees his reflection in the tire and is trying to
“drive off” an intruder.  Birds do this during
nesting time. For a couple of years I had to cover a window inside the screen to   keep a male cardinal
from killing himself and ruining the screen.  Turkeys
are a lot tougher to deal with :-)

I use a bag of stuffing mix and a can of cranberry sauce to repel wild turkeys.  Workd every time!
