Bridge Street Bridge to be Closed Part of Wednesday

The Bridge Street Bridge over the Saugatuck River will be closed Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for maintenance, according to the Selectman’s Office.

The bridge, whose formal name is the William F. Cribari Bridge, is undergoing repairs connected with Storm Sandy. Police advised motorists to make alternate arrangements.

The town announced two weeks ago that it has been notified by the Connecticut Department of Transportation that repair work by Cianbro Construction Co. will continue through the beginning of April. (See WestportNow Feb. 4, 2013)

The company is making repairs to both the mechanical and electrical components of the swing bridge.
