Newest Earthplace Permanent Resident
![]()
Marble, the barred owl, is the newest member of the Connecticut Birds of Prey exhibit at Westport’s Earthplace. Marble was found on the side of the road, presumably hit by a car. He was transferred to a wildlife rehabilitator who found that he had injuries to his wing feathers, beak and eyes. He was nursed back to health but has not regrown many of his primary wing feathers, those most important for flight, and thus is unable to be released back into the wild. At Earthplace he will be cared for the rest of his life and will become part of its many educational programs. For more information, call (203)227-7253 or visit www.earthplace.org.
