Wind Advisory Issued
The National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. has issued a Wind Advisory for Westport and area that is in effect from 10 a.m. to midnight today.
Winds northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph are expected this afternoon through evening, it said.
The strong winds could bring down tree limbs and could also cause blowing snow, reducing visibilities below one mile at times in areas receiving snowfall this morning, the advisory said.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph or gusts of 46 to 57 mph are expected or occurring.
