Asteroid Viewed at Westport Observatory
Several dozen persons gathered at Westport’s Rolnick Observatory on Bayberry Lane late today to view an asteroid which came within 17,150 miles from Earth’s atmosphere. Franco Fellah (r), a member of the Westport Astronomical Society, said the asteroid was in view for several minutes. “It was seen in the bottom of the viewing field around the 5 o”clock position,” he said. Visitors spent time in advance looking at Jupiter. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
