Driver Hurt in Merritt Crash
A driver suffered leg and ankle injuries today as a Ford SUV went off the road and struck a tree northbound on the Merritt Parkway between Exits 42 and 44, the Westport Fire Department said. The crash shortly before 10 a.m. caused severe damage to the car and airbag deployment, said Assistant Chief William R. Dingee. The driver was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, he said. It was not known if the weather contributed to the crash. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
