A small group of people turned out tonight at the Westport Weston Family Y for a public update forum on the construction plans for the new facility at Camp Mahackeno. The Turner Construction Company project manager, Daniel K. Drake, who said that he’s been the project manager for construction of Bedford Middle School, Saugatuck Elementary School and Staples High School, outlined the priorities for the next 30-60 days. He said these will include erosion control, tree removal and clearing, demolition of No. 4 and 5 Sunny Lane and the Rotary and Arts buildings, reuse of on-site materials and excavation plans.  He said the projected move-in date is October or November 2014.
