There was a rush of customers today to Great Cakes, 772 Post Road East, after a local blog reported owner Rick Dickinson (behind counter) might close Thursday and needed $4,000 to stay open after 19 years as owner at the location. The business reportedly had been impacted negatively by a Westport schools ruling last year that cup cakes and sweets could not be brought to schools for birthday celebrations.
