Postal Service Selects Franklin St. Building for Postal Boxes
![]()
The U.S. Postal Service has decided to relocate its Saugatuck postal boxes to a building at 25 Franklin St. (above), according to Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff. He said he received notice that the Postal Service was unable to secure space at 20 Saugatuck Ave., its first choice for permanent space. A trailer has temporarily housed the postal boxes in a parking lot there since September 2009 when the Saugatuck Post Office closed after 60 years at 611 Riverside Ave. The Postal Service said it welcomed comments on the Franklin Street site selection within the next 30 days addressed to 2 Congress St., Room 8, Milford, MA 01757.
