Snow Effect
![]()
Light snow began falling in the Westport area in late morning today. Forecasters said they expected only a dusting before it mixes with sleet early this afternoon before changing over to rain. However, with temperatures around or slightly below freezing in a few locations, there could be a brief period of freezing light rain or drizzle before temperatures warm up above freezing, a National Weather Service statement said. It advised drivers to be prepared for the possibility of slippery roads, especially on untreated surfaces. View is along Riverside Avenue in Westport’s Saugatuck section.
