Comings & Goings: Boat House Under New Management

The burgeoning restaurant scene in Westport’s Saugatuck section includes a change of management, chef and menu at The Boathouse Restaurant at the Saugatuck Rowing Club, 521 Riverside Ave., according to its new manager, Raffaele Gallo. A former Westport resident now living in Ridgefield, Gallo said he is the current owner of two other restaurants, Tiella, opened in 2009 at 61st Street and First Avenue in New York, and Gran Gusto on Sherman Street in Cambridge, Mass. since 2007. He said the new chef, Giuseppe Castellano, specializes in southern Italian cuisine. The Boathouse serves lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and dinner only on Saturday. Phone (203)227-3399. Gallo, a native of the Island of Capri who arrived in the United States in 1994 at the age of 23, is married and the father of two, a son and daughter.
