Just in Time for Christmas
Falling gas prices finally pushed premium to under $4—barely—at Cumberland Farms on Post Road East in Westport today. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

Just shameful that gas is still so high priced up there. We’re paying $2.99 here in Pinellas County, Florida.
Not sure I’d base gas prices on premium. Studies show, unless you have a high performance vehicle regular gas is just fine.
Cumberland always has one of the best prices in Westport. $3.73 is good, but in Stratford its $3.61 and upstate $3.42. Zone pricing rips us Fairfield County folks off.
What I have never understood is why the Mobil station closer to downtown is always $.80 higher. They charge $4.53 right now for regular. And people buy there, even with the Sunoco right next door charging $3.79. So if you fill up a 20 gallon tank, its like taking $16 and setting fire to the bills.
Maybe for Christmas all the Mobil buyers should buy at Cumberland and donate the difference to a charity.
Who cares how much Westporters pay for gas…with all those Rolls Royces and Range Rovers driving around you can surely afford it.
