Switching to Natural Gas

Westport’s Bradley Street in the Compo Beach area was closed today as crews installed natural gas lines. In the aftermath of Storm Sandy, an increasing number of Westport residents have sought to have natural gas lines installed in their area. In addition to the economic benefits of heating with natural gas over fuel oil, the use of natural gas avoids replenishing of generators that run on propane and the possibility that fuel tanks will break away in a flood emergency.
