Westport Parks & Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy says “it’s all systems go” for tonight’s fireworks to be launched after 9 p.m. from a barge off Compo Beach by the Grucci fireworks family.
McCarthy said he expects at least 10,000 people to attend, though the number should be lower than the turnout would have been on the original Thursday date, postponed due to weather.
“Some people might have other plans due to the changed date, but we expect a robust crowd,” McCarthy said.
He said all of the 2,000 vehicle tickets at $35 each have been sold out, and that as of 1:45 p.m. today only 15 of the 100 Longshore Park shuttle tickets, also $35 each, remained.
