UPDATE A two-hour power outage affected more than 100 customers in Westport’s Compo Beach area today.
Residents reported hearing a loud bang as apparently two breakers on transformers in the area “popped” shortly before 8 a.m., according to fire officials.
The transformers were located on Compo Beach Road in the areas of Owenoke Park and Apple Tree Trail.
Connecticut Light and Power Company said shortly after 8 a.m. that 113 customers in the area were without power. Two hours later it said power had been restored.
