Few true mid-century modern homes exist in Westport, and they are enjoying a new height in popularity.
Increasingly difficult to find, there are currently only eight of these homes on the market right now in Westport, and their average list price is just over $1.7 million.
The architectural design was indicative of the stylistic modern homes built in the 1950s, and these houses have a much different character than their later contemporary-styled counterparts.
Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles and Ray Eames, and Finland’s Eero Saarinen were a few well known architects who designed many noteworthy homes in what is now commonly referred to as mid-century modern style.
