The eastern pedestrian tunnel at the Metro-North Westport station in Saugatuck will be closed temporarily for four days beginning Friday, it was announced today.
Also known as the old pedestrian tunnel, the facility will close at 9 a.m. and reopen on Tuesday at 3 p.m. after cleaning and a new coat of paint.
Additionally, the drainage system will be serviced and new lighting will be installed, an announcement said.
The tunnel on the western side of the station platform will remain open for the duration. It was completed in 2005 as part of a two-year, $7.8 million renovation and upgrade project to make the station compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
