UPDATE A 68-year-old Weston man was seriously injured today when his motorcycle collided with a car on Long Lots Road, Westport police said.
The accident occurred at about 3 p.m. when the motorcyclist, identified by police as William Pitt, was traveling west on Long Lots Road near Burr School Road, and collided with a car driven by Rosa Catterina, 70, of Norwalk, police said.
A preliminary investigation found that Catterina, driving a Nissan Altima, turned left in front of the motorcycle, said Lt. Arthur Belile, the shift commander and accident investigation team leader.
He said the Pitt was found lying in the roadway near the shoulder of the road by arriving first responders and was transported by Westport EMS to Norwalk Hospital with serious injuries.
