With a rainfall amount approaching 3 inches in little more than 24 hours, Westporters awoke today to find flood waters covering several roadways.
Police said just before 6 a.m. that water blocked the area on Myrtle Avenue at Post Road East and around 53 Cross Highway.
The National Weather Service said a Flood Watch remained in effect for the Westport area until noon.
It said periods of locally heavy rain can be expected this morning, producing localized new amounts of greater than an inch.
