The National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. has issued a Wind Advisory for Westport and area that is in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Winds northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected, it said.
These winds could cause isolated to scattered power outages as weak trees and tree limbs get knocked down, the advisory said. They will also make travel difficult for high profile vehicles.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph or gusts of 46 to 57 mph are expected or occurring.
