The National Weather Service has issued an updated Winter Storm Warning for Westport and area, which remains in effect until 6 a.m. Friday.
It said to expect additional snow accumulation of 3 to 8 inches along with around a tenth of an inch of ice. Total snow accumulation from this storm will be 14 to 20 inches, it said.
Snowfall rates could be 1 to 3 inches per hour tonight, the Weather Service said.
Winds will be north 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph early, diminishing this evening, then becoming northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph late tonight. Temperatures will be in the lower 30s.
