The National Weather Service said fog is occurring across the Westport region with visibilities mainly 1 to 3 miles. However, there are areas of locally dense fog, reducing visibilities to one-quarter mile or less at times.
Theses areas are most likely to be found near the immediate coast, including area rivers, the Weather Service said.
Motorists should be on the look out for rapidly changing visibilities, especially near bodies of water.
Drivers encountering locally dense fog should reduce speed and use low beam headlights.
