William E. Wallace, 86

William E. Wallace of Westport, husband of the late Marie (DeMace) Wallace, died Feb. 2. He was 86.

He was born on June 8, 1926 and was the son of the late William and Florence (Vanak) Wallace. He was lifelong resident of Westport and was the owner of Town and Country Refuse for many years.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Southport Volunteer Fire Department, and the State Police Auxillary. He was also an avid gardener.

He is survived by his five daughters Marcia Ball of Westport, Patty Rodgers of Westport, Mary Marcinkowski of Milford, June Bosik of Stratford, and Lisa Klein of Monroe. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home 210 Post Road East, on Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place directly at Assumption Church 98 Riverside Ave., on Wednesday Feb. 6 at 11 .m. Interment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery.
